DAYDREAMING, a new musical, chronicles the soul-searching of a successful businesswoman at the crossroads of a particularly quirky midlife crisis: Much to her chagrin and consternation, - she finds she has to channel Doris Day to get through the day. In a session with her psychiatrist, she realizes she has somehow subconsciously patterned her life after the pert actress/singer, managing to capture the outer structure, while entirely missing the beloved star's inner essence - the sunny soul and the happy heart that galvanized legions of diehard fans. A rollicking musical journey through a roadmap of songs made popular by Doris Day results in the quest not only for closure and clarity, but for personal identity as well.

DENNIS BAILEY, a working Broadway, television, film and commercial actor for over 25 years, is also the co-author (with David Mixner) of the recent #1 Los Angeles Times best selling non-fiction book BRAVE JOURNEYS, as well as the author (with Stuart Stone) of the industry manual ACTING OUT: A Guide For The Commercial Actor. He collaborated with Dinah Manoff on the play TELEGRAM FROM HEAVEN, which had extended runs in Los Angeles and Chicago. His recent play FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS, as well as JACOB’S LADDER (co-written with David Mixner) were featured in The Living Room Series at The Blank Theater in Los Angeles.

KATHY MORATH has worked as an actress On and Off Broadway and in regional theatre.  Her musical, MARY S., co-written with Abra Bigham and Roger Nelson, won the 1986 National Musical Theatre Institute Award.  Ms. Morath and Karen Davidov created The American Project, which produced staged reading of lost American plays and was in residence at Circle-in-the Square Theatre in New York City. At the Court Theatre in Los Angeles, Ms. Morath produced Brett Rickaby’s dark comedy, ASYLUM. She is currently at work on an adaptation of the book, A LADY’S LIFE IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS, by Isabella Lucy Bird.
